Built in the UK.
To protect UK workers.
Founded in 2019, The Sentry is a proudly independent, self-funded technology company. We answer exclusively to our customers — not to private equity boards or venture capital investors.
Our mission: accessible safety for every worker
The Sentry was founded on a simple belief: that every worker who leaves the safety of an office or workplace deserves the same protection — regardless of whether their employer is a 10-person independent agency or a national property group.
For decades, enterprise lone worker safety technology was priced and designed exclusively for large organisations with dedicated IT departments. Independent estate agencies, letting firms, and property managers were left with the choice between expensive, hardware-heavy enterprise systems and inadequate, indefensible consumer apps.
The Sentry was built to close that gap — providing enterprise-grade protection through a modern, cloud-first platform that any business can deploy in under an hour, for less than £1 per worker per week.
In 1986, estate agent Suzy Lamplugh went to meet a client alone and never returned. Her legacy is why lone worker safety matters.
Independent, self-funded, and UK-based
The lone worker safety market is consolidating rapidly. Peoplesafe has acquired LONEALERT and Ok Alone. EcoOnline has absorbed StaySafe. These acquisitions are driven by private equity, which prioritises margin over mission.
The Sentry remains entirely independent. We have no investors to report to, no acquisition agenda, and no pressure to inflate prices or dilute the product. Our sole obligation is to our customers.
All client data is securely hosted and managed in strict accordance with UK GDPR and domestic data protection laws. Your data never leaves the United Kingdom.
Purpose-built for the property sector
Generic lone worker apps are built for all industries. The Sentry was engineered specifically for the unique risks of the property sector — solo viewings with strangers, vacant properties, remote inspections, and the high-pressure emotional dynamics of property transactions.
Our compliance documentation, our risk assessment frameworks, and our default platform settings are all calibrated for estate agencies, letting agencies, property management firms, and facilities management teams.
We also protect outreach workers, social care professionals, and hospitality staff — anyone who works alone and away from direct supervision.
Evolving with UK legislation
The UK regulatory landscape for lone workers is changing faster than at any point in the last two decades. The Worker Protection Act 2023, the Employment Rights Act 2025, and ongoing EHRC guidance updates require continuous platform evolution — not a quarterly review cycle.
WPA 2023 proactive duty came into force. Platform compliance pack updated immediately.
ERA 2025 whistleblowing provisions live. Private reporting channel confirmed compliant.
ERA 2025 all reasonable steps duty. Platform deployment evidence provides clear legal defence.
The people behind the platform
Meet the founders
The Sentry was built by two people who understood the problem from both sides — the technology and the industry it serves.
Stuart Evans
Co-Founder & Director
Stuart co-founded The Sentry in 2019 with a singular ambition: to build the lone worker safety platform the property sector desperately needed. A technology entrepreneur by trade, he designed and developed The Sentry app from the ground up — creating a cloud-first, mobile-native platform that delivers enterprise-grade protection without the hardware costs and IT overhead of legacy systems.
Stuart continues to lead the product and technical direction of The Sentry, ensuring the platform evolves in step with both emerging technology and an ever-changing regulatory landscape.
Rebecca Evans
Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer
Rebecca brings over 14 years of front-line experience as a Letting Agency Director, having founded and run a property services business in Ramsgate. That ground-level experience — navigating employment legislation, managing lone-working staff, and running a compliance-heavy operation — gave her first-hand insight into why accessible, affordable lone worker safety was so urgently needed.
As COO, Rebecca oversees operations, compliance strategy, and customer success. She is a recognised voice on employment law and worker safety, regularly contributing to leading property publications including The Negotiator.
